Felek

Male · Senior · 14 years

Felek is a special shepherd dog who has been through many hardships in his life. He once had a home, but his life was not easy. For years he was kept on a leash, without the possibility of walks and play. His only entertainment was counting flies that flew past his nose. After seven years, Felek ended up in an animal shelter. At first, it was hard for him in this constant noise, but he quickly got used to the new routine and learned some interesting things. Now, after five years in the animal shelter, he enjoys the presence of his favorite caretakers and walks that add some joy to his life. However, an animal shelter is not a real home. Felk feels the need for quiet, a comfortable place to sleep, and space for calm walks. Our hero is already 13 years old and deserves a dignified retirement at home. We dream that he spends the rest of his days by the side of a loving person he can trust. Felek handles vet visits well, grooming procedures, and even accepts a muzzle. Felek does not have high expectations but needs time to trust a new caregiver. That is why the adoption process will be a bit longer.

PL·Show original

Felkowi brakuje ciszy, wygodnego miejsca do spania i przestrzeni do spokojnych spacerów. Emilia 887644668 Ania 663033529

About Felek

What life with Felek looks like

Felek is a large senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Senior dog needing quiet home environment, requires time to build trust with new owner

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Felek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Felek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Felek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Felek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Felek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Felek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Felek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
