Filius

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 2 months

Filius, Fynn, Fando and Fino, four adorable siblings, were found abandoned on August 9, 2026, in the municipality of Lajosmizse, Hungary. They are still very young and without their mother, and we can only imagine the hardships they have faced. Fortunately, they were discovered by kind people and brought to the animal shelter, where they hopefully will soon be seen by their new families and start a new, happy life. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the brothers will soon be able to exchange the shelter for a responsible and wonderful home and not have to spend too much of their childhood behind bars. The quartet does not have to be placed together. Luckily, the puppies have survived their involuntary "adventure" well and are thriving. They are playful, a bit clumsy, sociable, cheerful, affectionate, agile, and ready for any mischief, and they are getting more and more of it every day. New situations can sometimes intimidate them, but their childlike curiosity and boldness quickly prevail. They are still green behind their ears and their new people should be happy to lovingly teach them everything a dog needs to know for their later life as a family member. New owners should also be aware that young dogs bring a lot of joy but also a lot of work and responsibility, so they can develop into great companions. They get along well with their peers. We are looking for a loving and dog-enthusiastic home for these adorable siblings, where they can enjoy extended and varied walks, be exercised in a dog- and age-appropriate manner, get enough rest, and be spoiled with many cuddles every day. Then, a visit to a puppy/young dog school and full family connection, and the four can finally enjoy a dog-worthy life. The brothers bring a lot of love and joy into their new home. Four lonely dog children are looking for their future two-legged ones! They are still too young for castration, which must be done by their new owners when they are old enough. The estimated final size is 53-63cm and the final weight is 22-32kg. On September 9, 2026, Filius is 19cm and 1.7kg. The gang can travel from around early/mid-November 2026 if they have found a home or foster home.

About Filius

What life with Filius looks like

Filius is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Filius, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Filius?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Filius on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Filius if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Filius already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Filius isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Filius and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
