Flappie is a neutered senior dog, 12 years old. He came to us with his faithful companion Fientje, and we hope that these two oldies can start their next chapter together. Flappie is 12 years old, so he has a lot of years on the clock. Unfortunately, this also means that he has some medical concerns. His checkup showed that both eyes have problems. Especially his right eye has increased eye pressure, for which he receives eye medication. Further follow-up of his eyes by a veterinarian is highly recommended. In addition, Flappie has arthritis, for which he currently receives daily pain medication. His future owners must therefore take into account that he will need ongoing medical follow-up and possibly medication. His heart and ears were checked and were in order. But don't let his age and medical baggage scare you off. Flappie deserves just like every other dog a warm home where he can still fully enjoy his old age. And the best would be if he could do that with Fientje by his side. They came to us together and that's why we are initially looking for a home where they are welcome together. For Flappie, we are looking for people who consciously choose a senior and understand that sometimes extra care, vet visits and costs come with that. Maak kennis met Flappie, een gecastreerde senior van 12 jaar. Samen met zijn trouwe maatje Fientje kwam hij bij ons terecht en daarom hopen we natuurlijk dat deze twee oudjes hun volgende hoofdstuk samen mogen beginnen. Flappie is ondertussen 12 jaar en heeft dus al heel wat jaren op de teller. Dat betekent helaas ook dat hij enkele medische aandachtspuntjes heeft. Bij zijn controle bleek dat beide ogen problemen vertonen. Vooral aan zijn rechteroog is er sprake van een verhoogde oogdruk, waarvoor hij oogmedicatie krijgt. Verdere opvolging voor zijn ogen door een dierenarts is sterk aangeraden. Flappie heeft ook nog enkele ouderdomskwaaltjes waar zijn toekomstige baasje rekening mee moet houden. Zo heeft hij artrose, waarvoor hij momenteel dagelijks pijnstilling krijgt om hem zo comfortabel mogelijk te houden. Uit zijn bloedonderzoek bleek daarnaast dat zijn schildklier wat te traag werkt. Ook hiervoor krijgt Flappie dagelijks medicatie. Met de juiste ondersteuning en opvolging hopen we ervoor te zorgen dat deze lieve senior nog volop kan genieten van een comfortabele en fijne oude dag. Zijn toekomstige baasjes moeten er dus rekening mee houden dat hij blijvende medische opvolging en medicatie nodig zal hebben. Maar laat zijn leeftijd en medisch rugzakje je niet meteen afschrikken. Flappie verdient net als iedere andere hond een warme thuis waar hij nog volop mag genieten van zijn oude dag. En het mooiste zou natuurlijk zijn als hij dat mag doen met Fientje aan zijn zijde. Ze kwamen samen bij ons binnen en daarom gaan we in eerste instantie op zoek naar een thuis waar ze samen welkom zijn. Voor Flappie zoeken we mensen die bewust kiezen voor een senior en begrijpen dat daar soms wat extra zorg, dierenartsbezoekjes en kosten bij komen kijken.
