Adopt Flox

Brittany Spaniel · Male · Adult · 6 years

Gender: Male Breed: Epagneul Breton Mix Flox is ready to experience life anew. The sweet Flox unfortunately experienced little love and a lot of boredom in his small cage during the early days of his life. Now, he eagerly absorbs every bit of affection he can get. As soon as another dog is stroked nearby, Flox is there and asks for his personal pat. He very much enjoys wearing his harness and is always ready to show off what he has learned when another dog nearby is just being taught. He gets along very well with female dogs, just as with male dogs he knows and those that are a bit more calm. He keeps a bit of distance from stormy young pups but communicates when it gets too much for him. For most of his life, Flox spent time with his senior friend Rocky. However, we are also convinced that he would be just as happy with his very own home, either with an individual person or a family. Flox loves to go for walks, run, and play with a ball. On walks, he is focused but always approachable and leash-friendly – especially when treats are involved. He wishes for a home where he can sniff and move around a lot. In his new home, there should be no cats or other small animals. Typical of the breed, Flox forms the perfect mix of a cuddly, sensitive dog who would like to bond with his people as a companion and an energy package that loves movement and shared adventures. If you like Flox, please click on "Request Now" and fill out the referral form. You can also take Flox in as a foster dog. More dogs are looking for a home... Mia San wants a quiet dog bed of her own. Maya wants her own home. Oscar is friendly and open to other dogs as well as people. Milly has been waiting so long for her people. Walks well on a leash.

Der süße Flox hat leider die erste Zeit seines Lebens nur wenig Liebe und dafür sehr viel Langeweile in seinem kleinen Käfig erfahren. Dafür saugt er jetzt umso mehr jedes bisschen an Zuneigung auf, das er bekommen kann. Sobald ein anderer Hund in seiner Nähe gestreichelt wird, ist Flox zur Stelle und bittet um seine persönliche Streicheleinheit. Er trägt sehr gerne sein Geschirr und ist zur Stelle, wenn ein anderer Hund in seiner Nähe das gerade beigebracht bekommt, um zu zeigen, wie gut er das kann. Mit Hündinnen kommt er sehr gut zurecht, genauso wie mit Rüden, die er schon kennt und solchen, die etwas ruhiger sind. Vor stürmischen Jungspunden hält er lieber etwas Abstand, kommuniziert aber auch, wenn es ihm zu viel wird. Die meiste Zeit seines Lebens verbrachte Flox mit seinem Seniorfreund Rocky. Wir sind jedoch auch überzeugt, dass er sich über sein ganz eigenes Zuhause, entweder bei einer Einzelperson oder auch bei einer Familie, freuen würde. Flox liebt es Gassi zu gehen, zu rennen und spielt gerne mit dem Ball. Auf Spaziergängen ist er fokussiert, aber immer ansprechbar und leinenführig – besonders wenn Leckerlis im Spiel sind. Er wünscht sich ein Zuhause, bei dem er viel schnüffeln und sich bewegen darf. In seinem neuen Zuhause sollten keine Katzen oder andere Kleintiere sein. Rassetypisch bildet Flox die perfekte Mischung aus einem verschmusten, sensiblen Hund, der sich gerne als Begleiter an seine Menschen binden würde und einem Energiepaket, das Bewegung und gemeinsame Abenteuer liebt. Wenn Ihnen Flox gefällt, klicken Sie bitte auf „Jetzt anfragen“ und füllen Sie das Vermittlungsformular aus. Sie können Flox auch erst als Pflegehund bei sich aufnehmen. Noch mehr Hunde suchen ein Zuhause... Mia San möchte endlich ein ruhiges Körbchen für sich. Maya möchte endlich ihr eigenes Zuhause haben. Oscar ist nicht nur Menschen, sondern auch anderen Hunden gegenüber freundlich und aufgeschlossen. Milly wartet schon so lange auf ihre Menschen. jQuery(document).ready(function($) { $('-studios-carousel-elementor-91a277c').owlCarousel({ itemClass: "tailwag-carousel-item", onTranslated: tailwagDisplayPrevNav91a277c, // breakpoint from 0 up // breakpoint from 768 up // breakpoint from 1025 up function tailwagDisplayPrevNav91a277c(){ $("-studios-carousel-elementor-91a277c").addClass("tailwag-carousel-left-arrow-on"); }

About Flox

What life with Flox looks like

Flox is a small adult brittany spaniel dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. in Bad Vilbel.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
