adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Flummi has found her luck! Her story: Flummi is now 5 years old and has unfortunately not found her forever home yet, even though she is such a gentle and quiet creature. The beautiful female cat was found on the street by a helpful woman and was originally only supposed to be sterilized and then released. However, it was quickly determined that Flummi must undergo an operation due to her eyelid condition (entropion). After the operation, Flummi was to recuperate with her rescuer, but unfortunately, her co-residents no longer tolerated the female cat, so the woman sought advice at an animal clinic. In a nutshell, Flummi was brought to our foster facilities, where she now waits for her new family. Although Flummi's vision is not impaired, she should only move in a secured outdoor area because she, due to her gentle and quiet nature, is not well-suited for the street. Therefore, for example, a secured terrace or a cat-safe netted balcony would be ideal for the beautiful female cat. Whether Flummi gets along with other cats and dogs is unclear. However, she definitely does well as a single cat. At first, she is still a bit shy, but she still enjoys being stroked. At first, she likes to keep a low profile when she is in an unfamiliar situation. This should be accepted and tolerated at the arrival in her new home. Flummi can move to her new family right away and is already neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. Additionally, she has tested negative for FIV and FeLV and comes with an EU pet passport.

About Flummi

What life with Flummi looks like

Flummi is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Flummi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Flummi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Flummi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Flummi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Flummi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Flummi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Flummi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
