Foldini

Scottish Fold · Male · Young · 2 years

Warning: The breed Scottish Fold is a form of puppy mill. The distinctive folded ears of the Folds are the result of breeding with a genetic disease (Osteochondrodysplasia). Cats with folded ears are born with an incurable illness and suffer from severe pain throughout their lives. We have already observed painful changes in the movement of Scottish-Fold kittens. Therefore, the question is not whether, but when one must treat cats of this breed with pain medication. Accordingly, adopting a Scottish Fold should also be considered with expensive treatments and high vet costs. Please familiarize yourself with the issues of this form of puppy mill before deciding to adopt one of the affected cats. Like many of our cats, Foldini was found – without a chip or other identification. Zutrauliche cats like him, especially cats of this breed, do not live wild on the streets – either someone got rid of the dear fellow or they really didn’t look for him. But Foldini was lucky, was found, and brought to the animal shelter. In the meantime, he has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and is getting along well with the other young cats in the cattery. There, he is very uncomplicated and open. He is happy when another four-legged friend approaches him and also holds back with small purrs. Nevertheless, Foldini has also shown himself to be very self-assured and defensive towards us – one should know to respect his boundaries. Cat beginners and small children do not suit him. Due to his (mostly) quiet nature and his breed, we present Foldini as suitable for apartment living with a secure outdoor area. As he is so compatible, a playmate should already be waiting for him in his new home. Perhaps he will also find a friend in our cattery with whom he can move out together. Of course, he still wants a lot of attention from his two-legged roommates and should not be shortchanged in everyday life.

About Foldini

What life with Foldini looks like

Foldini is a young adult scottish fold cat waiting at Tierheim Bonn in Bonn.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Foldini, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Foldini?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Bonn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Foldini on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Foldini if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Bonn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Foldini already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Foldini isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Bonn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Foldini and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
