Scottish Fold · Unknown · Young · 3 years

The senior couple Karlchen and Lilly had to reluctantly move to us, as their owner could no longer adequately care for them due to its age. Now, the two are searching for a loving home where they can spend their twilight years in peace and security. The shelter situation is currently very tough on them. They prefer to retreat, want their peace, and initially show a more reserved side to strangers. Once their trust is won, however, Karlchen and Lilly can be quite different: They then allow closeness, enjoy cuddles, and show their gentle nature. Therefore, we are looking for quiet, experienced people who are well-homed, bring patience, and give the cats all the time in the world to settle in. Children or other pets should not live in the household. Karlchen and Lilly must be rehomed together and wish for a quiet home suitable for apartment living, preferably with a secure balcony. Especially for Karlchen, we wish for people who are aware of his health situation. Karlchen is a Scottish Fold and thus unfortunately belongs to the severe breed challenges. The consequences of this are already affecting his health: His joints cause him problems, for which he receives a monthly pain injection. Additionally, he is being treated for hyperthyroidism, and his kidney values must also be regularly monitored as they have already shown changes. Lilly currently needs to lose a little weight, but she simply wants to enjoy a quiet home again. For Karlchen and Lilly, we are not looking for perfect people—rather, we are looking for understanding people with hearts who wish to give two older cats another chance at security, peace, and love.

How do I contact the shelter about Karlchen und Lilly suchen gemeinsam einen ruhigen Altersruhesitz 🖤?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Düsseldorf handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. Can I adopt Karlchen und Lilly suchen gemeinsam einen ruhigen Altersruhesitz 🖤 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Düsseldorf will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. What happens if Karlchen und Lilly suchen gemeinsam einen ruhigen Altersruhesitz 🖤 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
