Adopt Frank

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Young · 3 years

Frank is a handsome and independent chap. After being abandoned on a dump heap, he had to learn to look after himself, but he is remembering what it's like to be loved and cared for now in rescue. We hope that Frank can find a lovely home, where he could live forever and never be abandoned again. Frank is an independent chap, but does enjoy some fusses when he comes and asks for them. He is very food motivated and enjoys treats. At the moment he does need some feeding up, but once he's back to his optimum condition, his diet will need to be regulated for him so he doesn't get too chubby or unhealthy! Frank will benefit from outdoor access, but will likely enjoy some home comforts too. We aren't sure how Frank would be with children or dogs, and while he shared the dump heap with two other cats, there was some conflict between them, so a pet free home would probably be best for him. If you would like to give this handsome chap a home, please get in touch.

About Frank

What life with Frank looks like

Frank is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at The Sheffield Cats Shelter in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frank, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frank?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Sheffield Cats Shelter handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frank on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frank if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Sheffield Cats Shelter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frank already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frank isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Sheffield Cats Shelter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frank and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
