Freya &#8211

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Freya now lives in 58099 Hagen. All the best, Freya. Heartfelt thanks, Frau A.-S. Freya, a wonderful 1.5-year-old (as of May 2025) Border Collie-dame, has already experienced a lot in her short life and is now searching for a loving home where she can finally experience the security and safety she deserves. Freya was rescued from a household where she was regularly beaten and mistreated. She became pregnant in the hands of animal welfare workers, who lovingly cared for her. Under these difficult conditions, she gave birth to ten puppies, of which unfortunately only four survived. Freya has proven in her foster family to be a fantastic mother, caring for her little ones with endless devotion. Despite her difficult past, Freya has never lost her joy in life and her friendly nature when interacting with both humans and animals. Our brave girl is exceptionally grateful and cuddly. Freya brings an open and attentive demeanor that makes her popular with both two- and four-legged friends. Her past has not broken her but strengthened her. Now, Freya is searching for a family that is active, sporty, and reliable to offer her a new chapter full of joy and love. As a Border Collie, Freya brings the typical traits of her breed. Border Collies are considered one of the smartest dog breeds and are known for their high learning ability and work ethic. They need mental and physical challenges to be happy and balanced. Freya would therefore be ideal for a family that enjoys spending a lot of time outdoors, whether hiking, cycling, or other sporting activities. She could also shine and have a lot of fun on a dog place with the right support team. Freya not only deserves a new home but also a family that shows her that the world is full of love, security, and colorful adventures. Until people are found who promise Freya all of this for life, she waits with her unmistakable smile at our friends at El Buen Amigo for her ticket to great happiness – perhaps directly to YOUR heart?

Freya lebt jetzt in 58099 Hagen. Alles Gute, Freya. Herzlichen Dank, Frau A.-S.

About Freya &#8211

What life with Freya &#8211 looks like

Freya &#8211 is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freya &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freya &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freya &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freya &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Freya &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freya &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freya &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
