Frida

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 5 years

Frida looks serious, one could say extremely serious, so it's worth getting to know her personally, she is very friendly and cheerful. A fluffy ball filled with fur and joy. She is about 5 years old, has been at the animal shelter for a short time and is still learning how to cope in this difficult place. Taken from a chain, she is waiting for a new chance with us, hopefully not for too long! At first, she is very cautious in contact, a bit on edge, a bit distrustful. With each walk, she opens up more and more to a relationship with a person. She already likes being brushed, allows herself to be touched (although without much enthusiasm for now). It's nice to see how much progress she makes, I think that in a new home with supportive, warm people, she will quickly become a cuddly sweetie. She gladly goes for walks, although at first, staying away from the animal shelter and her favorite caregiver really stressed her and she did it unwillingly. Now it's much better, but she still always asks if we are definitely coming back;) She is okay in the city, but probably this is her first time having the opportunity to walk in busy places, since she is very surprised by the "metropolitan" world, a lot of things interest her, she sniffs, clearly amazed by the intense life. There is a chance that such a life will suit her, we are hoping very much. She walks on a leash politely, although sometimes she has discussions about the chosen direction of the walk - after all, what are dog walkers for - fortunately, she is easy to bribe, so it's just a matter of negotiation. Frida has some problems with other dogs, she barks equally at every one she meets. It seems rather fearful, but at this stage it's still hard to check. It's possible that with a stable resident dog she will open up and even enjoy playing together, who knows. As you can easily notice, Frida doesn't see with one eye. Fortunately, a dog's vision is the least developed sense, and the most important one, smell, is absolutely sharp, so it doesn't bother her in any way. But what it adds to her original appearance! Our unassuming fluffy one is asking for a good home. To be taken care of, taught to live with a human and not alongside, shown how to share adventures and sorrows together. She would no longer like to be alone. Can the home have children? Can it have other animals? I don't know, but we can check. Also, if she caught your eye and your heart, please contact me - I'll be happy to help in meeting her - volunteer Karolina - phone/WhatsApp 501051386, we are waiting at the animal shelter in Choszczno. If you want to help this dog, but cannot adopt her - we invite you to walks! Every day during hours.

polski English Deutsch Frida wygląd ma poważny, można by rzec że nad wyraz poważny, dlatego warto ją poznać osobiście, to bardzo sympatyczna i wesoła dziewczyna. Puchata kulka wypełniona sierścią i radością. Codziennie w godzinach . KONTAKT W SPRAWIE PSA KAROLINA 501051386 , LUB BIURO 513 135 375

About Frida

What life with Frida looks like

Frida is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Choszczno in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Frida, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Frida?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Choszczno handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Frida on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Frida if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Choszczno will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Frida already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Frida isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Choszczno early rather than rehoming privately; they know Frida and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
