Frodo is a 6.5-year-old red-and-white male cat who usually hides in his cozy little den, but has been emerging more frequently when we bring treats. Recently, we were able to take a photo of him relaxing outside. He was startled when he saw us, but fortunately, he just stayed put. This is a positive development! Frodo is a red-and-white male cat who is 6.5 years old. From his behavior, it seems that Frodo has had little contact with humans. Maybe only in his early youth, or maybe never at all. As a result, Frodo finds people quite exciting. When we get too close to him, he tries to run away. However, we've seen some progress over time. It seems that Frodo is slowly discovering that people may not be so scary after all. We always bring treats for him, and like many cats, love seems to go through the stomach. We are looking for a quiet home for Frodo with one or two people who have experience with cats and enjoy working with him. People who want to teach him that people are not scary at his own pace. This requires a lot of patience, and it's difficult to predict how far Frodo will go. But if you manage to win Frodo's trust, a very special and personal bond will form. And that gives a lot of satisfaction. We rarely see Frodo interacting with the other cats in the space. That's why we're happy to place him as the only cat. Meestal zit Frodo lekker veilig in zijn holletje verstopt, maar tegenwoordig komt hij steeds vaker tevoorschijn als wij met wat lekkers binnen komen lopen. Zo konden we onlangs een foto van hem maken terwijl hij heerlijk buiten lag te relaxen. Hij schrok wel even toen hij ons zag, maar bleef gelukkig gewoon liggen. En dat is een mooie ontwikkeling! Frodo is een rood-witte kater van 6,5 jaar. Aan zijn gedrag te merken heeft Frodo waarschijnlijk maar weinig contact met mensen gehad. Misschien alleen in zijn vroege jeugd, of misschien wel helemaal nooit. Mensen vindt Frodo dan ook nog behoorlijk spannend. Als we te dicht bij hem in de buurt komen, probeert hij weg te lopen. Toch zien we na een tijdje een goede vooruitgang. Het lijkt erop dat Frodo langzaam begint te ontdekken dat mensen misschien helemaal niet zo eng zijn. We nemen natuurlijk altijd iets lekkers voor hem mee en zoals bij zoveel katten gaat de liefde toch een beetje door de maag. Voor Frodo zoeken we een rustig thuis bij één of twee mensen die ervaring hebben met katten en het leuk vinden om echt met hem aan de slag te gaan. Mensen die hem op zijn eigen tempo willen leren dat mensen niet eng zijn. Daar is veel geduld voor nodig en hoe ver Frodo uiteindelijk zal komen, kunnen we moeilijk voorspellen. Maar juist als het lukt om het vertrouwen van Frodo te winnen, ontstaat er een heel bijzondere en persoonlijke band. En dat geeft ontzettend veel voldoening. We zien Frodo eigenlijk nooit echt met de andere katten in de ruimte optrekken. Daarom vinden we het prima om hem als enige kat te plaatsen. Kinderen of een kinderwens passen niet bij Frodo; hij heeft vooral behoefte aan rust, voorspelbaarheid en mensen die hem de tijd geven. Hebt u die juiste mix van rust, ervaring en geduld?
