adoption requirements adoption process Request this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Request this dog now! Funny is a true unique. With his reddish-brown, short fur, charming white socks, and elegant black snout, he is a real eye-catcher. But it is his deep gaze that immediately touches your heart – a gaze that tells the whole story of a small, brave dog. Funny was found all alone, presumably abandoned. This experience has left deep scars: He is currently still reserved, suspicious, and does not feel comfortable around people near him. He belongs to the dogs who stand at the栅栏 in their kennel and bark to keep potential intruders at a distance. Who could blame him, given that this is the only safe space for him? His gaze also reveals: Behind this insecure and cautious facade lies a dog who shows interest in his environment. We are convinced that a calm and stable home will open the doors to his loving inner self. In a relaxed environment, Funny can learn to trust and relax – and then hopefully his true, joyful nature will come out soon! Funny is still young and just at the beginning of his life. At about 35 cm and around 10 kg, he has the ideal size to be everywhere later on. We are looking for dog-experienced, patient, and understanding people who give Funny the time he needs. A home without too much hustle and bustle that offers him structure and calm will help him make faster progress. Experienced dog trainers could also be a great help here. Funny travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated to his new home. Also included is his EU pet passport. Due to his short snout, he is unfortunately not allowed to travel to Switzerland. After positive Funny has so much love to give once he learns that the world is a safe place. Are you ready to show him this path? Thank you, Gaby R., you gave Funny his name, which hopefully will do him justice in his future life. Date: 02.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Funny

What life with Funny looks like

Funny is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Funny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Funny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Funny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Funny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Funny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Funny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Funny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
