Adopt Gaja

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Gaja – a delicate female dog with a golden heart, learning to trust. Meet Gaja – a young, adult sun-dog, sister to our Zefir, who is slowly discovering that humans can be a source of good, safety, and love. She is a calm, gentle pup with an unusually sensitive nature. Gaja is a medium-sized dog, rather of the smaller variety, very subtle and delicate in her dealings. Though initially shy, she makes huge progress and with each day opens up more to people. She loves being petted, shown affection, and a calm connection with a caregiver – with the right dose of patience, she can bloom into the most beautiful flower. She gets along well with other dogs, is gentle and compliant in relationships. She will be a wonderful companion for both a human and a canine friend. Gaja is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped – ready to begin a new, happy life with her family. She arrived at the animal shelter with her brother Zefir, and we very much hope that this wonderful sibling pair will soon find loving homes. We are looking for a calm, understanding caregiver who will give her time, support, and a sense of security. If you dream of a loyal, affectionate friend – Gaja may be the one. Come, meet her in person and let her steal your heart.

To spokojna, łagodna psinka o niezwykle wrażliwej naturze. Gaja jest wysterylizowana, zaszczepiona, odrobaczona, odpchlona i zachipowana – gotowa, by rozpocząć nowe, szczęśliwe życie u boku swojej rodziny. Przyjdź, poznaj ją osobiście i pozwól jej skraść swoje serce.

About Gaja

What life with Gaja looks like

Gaja is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Oaza dla Zwierząt Mielec in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gaja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gaja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Oaza dla Zwierząt Mielec handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gaja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gaja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Oaza dla Zwierząt Mielec will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gaja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gaja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Oaza dla Zwierząt Mielec early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gaja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
