Geo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Geo was born around 07/2026 and is currently about 25 cm tall (as of 19.10.2026). The little male dog was abandoned in Romania at a water pump where an animal welfare volunteer regularly fetches water for the dogs in the fields. Unfortunately, his coat had to be shaved off completely. However, it is already starting to grow back. Geo is an incredibly sweet, cuddly and people-oriented little boy who loves to give kisses. His great passion, though, is cats! He would happily spend the whole day with them, playing, cuddling and romping around. This sweet little rascal is full of joie de vivre and wants to discover the world. Of course, as a young dog, he still has a lot to learn and needs people who will guide him lovingly along the way. For Geo, we are hoping for a warm-hearted family who will give him security, safety and plenty of affection. People who enjoy raising a young dog, patiently teaching him the ABCs of dog life and experiencing many wonderful adventures together with him. From 15.11.2026, Geo can travel to his new home. After his difficult start, Geo more than deserves to finally arrive and become a beloved member of a family. We look forward to your inquiries! The adoption fee is 595 €. He has been examined by a vet, dewormed, treated for fleas, microchipped, vaccinated and tested for Mediterranean diseases, including leishmaniasis, and comes with an EU pet passport and Traces. He is still too young to be neutered.

About Geo

What life with Geo looks like

Geo is a large puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Tierrettung International e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Geo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Geo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierrettung International e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Geo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Geo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierrettung International e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Geo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Geo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierrettung International e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Geo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
