Gregory

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Gregory was born around 01/2023 and stands about 48 cm at the shoulder. He was found in Bulgaria, wandering completely alone with a chain around his neck. The chain had already caused a deep wound on his neck. After caring animal lovers treated his wound and it had healed, Gregory turned out to be a very lovable young guy. He is social with people and other dogs, loves to run and play, and enjoys long walks. An animal rescuer now looks after Gregory every day, feeds him and takes him for walks, but unfortunately, due to lack of space, he lives on a chain in a kind of barn, and he waits very impatiently for her every day. We so hope that Gregory will be seen very soon and can go on his journey to a beautiful home. Who will fall in love with this cheerful boy? We look forward to your inquiries! Gregory has been examined by a veterinarian, dewormed, treated for fleas, microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, and tested for Mediterranean diseases including leishmaniasis, and he has an EU pet passport and Traces registration. The adoption fee is 595€.

DE·Show original

About Gregory

What life with Gregory looks like

Gregory is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierrettung International e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gregory, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gregory?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierrettung International e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gregory on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gregory if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierrettung International e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Gregory already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gregory isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierrettung International e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gregory and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
