Geri's Story: Geri wandered around the island of Zakynthos for a while. Eventually, she ended up near the airport and the volunteers from Zante Strays were able to catch her. After inquiring and investigating, it turned out Geri was an abandoned dog. The reason is not clear and neither is who her owner was. Geri is not to blame, she is a treasure of a dog. The volunteers brought her to the shelter and she has been there for a few years now. It's high time for Geri to get her golden bed in the Netherlands, with a nice family. Geri was born around July 2022. Geri weighs about 26 pounds and is about 55 cm tall. Geri is a relatively calm lady. She is a content lady and not a huge attention seeker or a show-off, when visitors come to the shelter. Geri has a full coat, with 1 funny white sock and 3 very small white socks and a white bib. Geri has a small tail, probably she was born with it. On the playground (the fenced area where the dogs can run and play freely) she can get along well with the other dogs. She likes to be in their company and reacts friendly. To people, Geri is incredibly friendly. She stands still to be petted and stroked. Sometimes she puts her head in your lap. Geri would love to "work" for her people but she also likes to do her own thing from time to time. Geri already walks well on a leash and is house trained. Although she is friendly to other dogs, we find her more a people-oriented dog than a dog-oriented dog. We are looking for experienced dog people for Geri, living in a quiet environment, in a house with a big garden. People without cats and if there are children, then from the age of 12/14. Another, not too busy dog would be possible. We are looking for active people who want to work with her. For example, hiking in the woods or on the beach. After which she can then relax.

Het verhaal van Geri: Geri liep een tijdje rond op het eiland Zakynthos. Uiteindelijk belandde ze in de buurt van de luchthaven en hebben de vrijwilligers van Zante Strays haar kunnen vangen. Na navragen en uitzoeken, bleek Geri een verlaten hond te zijn. De reden is niet duidelijk en wie haar eigenaar was ook niet. Aan Geri ligt het niet, het is een schat van een hond. De vrijwilligers hebben haar naar de shelter gebracht en daar zit ze nu alweer een aantal jaar. Het is hoog tijd voor Geri dat ze haar gouden mand in Nederland krijgt, bij een fijne familie. Geri is geboren rond juli 2022. Geri weegt een kilo of 26 en is rond de 55 cm hoog Geri is een relatief rustige dame. Het is een tevreden dame en geen enorme aandachtstekker of haantje de voorste, als er bezoekers in de shelter komen. Geri heeft een volle vacht, met 1 grappige witte sok en 3 hele kleine witte sokjes en een witte bef. Geri heeft een klein staartje, waarschijnlijk is ze hiermee geboren. Doordat Geri al een tijd in de shelter zit en er niet veel tijd is om met haar te trainen, is ze niet meer zoveel gewend. Als ze een keer uit de kennel is, is haar stressemmetje snel vol. Als ze aan de lijn loopt, reageert ze naar andere honden door te blaffen en ze een beetje weg te jagen. “blijf uit mijn buurt, ik vind het spannend”. Haar stressemmertje is dan vol. Op de playground in de vrije ruimte (de omheinde plek waar de honden vrij kunnen rondrennen en spelen) kon ze prima met sommige andere honden opschieten of reageerde ze simpelwewg niet. Naar mensen toe is Geri ontzettend vriendelijk. Ze blijft staan om lekker gekroeld en geaaid te worden. Soms legt ze daarbij haar kop in je schoot. Geri zal graag voor haar mensen ‘werken' maar ze vindt het ook fijn om af en toe haar eigen dingetje te doen. Geri loopt al prima aan de riem en is tuinzindelijk. Alhoewel ze vriendelijk is naar andere honden, vinden we haar meer een mens gerichte hond dan een hond gerichte hond. We zoeken voor G
