Glenda

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

Glenda has been staying for a long time at the small shelter of rescuer Timea. Along with her sisters Gloria and Gerda and her brother Gunnar, she grew up there. Now Gloria and Gerda have found their golden beds, but Glenda is still waiting for her own chance. Therefore, we hope that she will also be seen soon. At the shelter, Glenda lives together with other dogs in a kennel. She shows that she gets along well with them. She is kind, social, and calm in her behavior. In addition, Glenda enjoys the attention of the caretakers. She visibly enjoys contact with people and likes to be petted. Rescuer Timea affectionately describes her as "a sweet lady," which perfectly fits her personality. Furthermore, Glenda is a quiet dog that is not very active. Because of this, she would fit well with a family or household looking for a calm and balanced dog. She radiates gentleness and kindness and is pleasant to be around. Because Glenda is social, people-oriented, and calm by nature, we think she can grow into a nice family dog. Of course, she will also have to get used to a new environment, but with patience and guidance, this can go well. Glenda has already had all her vaccinations and is therefore ready for the exciting trip to the Netherlands. She hopes to find a kind adopter there who will give her her own soft bed and let her enjoy rest, attention, and love. Who will finally give this lovely lady her well-deserved golden bed? About Glenda

What life with Glenda looks like

Glenda is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Stichting Help een Hond in Netherlands.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Glenda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Glenda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Help een Hond handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Glenda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Glenda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Help een Hond will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Glenda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Glenda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Help een Hond early rather than rehoming privately; they know Glenda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
