Alfie is a 2016‑born spaniel with a gentle nature and a determined spirit. He arrived with us after his owner moved into end‑of‑life care, and the family could no longer support his needs. Alfie needed extra help right away because he had been struggling to walk for quite some time. His nails were clipped, and he started a strict diet to ease the pressure on his joints. Three weeks later, his progress is impressive. He has already lost over 3 kilos, bringing him down to 33 kilos. He still has a journey ahead, but each bit of weight he drops allows us to increase his exercise safely. Our goal is to help him reach around 28 kilos before he moves on to a new home. Alfie’s personality shines through even as he works on getting healthier. He is an easygoing boy who enjoys company and still has plenty of energy tucked away. His calm nature makes caring for him a pleasure, and he responds well to routine and gentle encouragement. As his mobility improves, his confidence grows, and he shows more of the bright, affectionate dog he has always been. Alfie deserves a home that will continue his progress and celebrate his wins. He has shown real determination, and his future looks hopeful. With steady support, he will soon be ready to enjoy long walks, new adventures, and a family who appreciates his warm, loyal character.
