Grace

German Shepherd · Female · Young · 2 years

Grace is a friendly, curious, and initially reserved dog who has unfortunately not been fortunate enough to find a home where she could stay permanently. Her previous family felt overwhelmed with a dog and eventually saw no other option but to give her up. Grace is a friendly, curious puppy who initially approaches her environment with a certain reserve and caution. She needs some time to gain trust and adjust to new people and situations. Once she has gained her trust, however, Grace shows a completely different side of herself. She is thrilled when she sees familiar people again, seeks out closeness on her own, and naturally seeks out her petting. Grace is also completely uncomplicated with her fellow dogs. She greets other dogs friendly and impartially, plays playfully with her dog friends, and remains relaxed even when meeting dogs on a leash. She especially loves walks and enjoys exploring the world together. In addition to her loving and loyal nature, Grace already has a good basic obedience. We wish for Grace people who approach her with patience, understanding, and empathy. People who give her the time she needs to arrive and build trust. Because behind her initial reserve is a cheerful, affectionate, and lovable puppy who longs for nothing more than to finally find her place in life. They are all vaccinated, chipped, and have an EU passport. They are screened for age-appropriate Mediterranean diseases. See the information on our homepage. Each dog placed makes room for one of those dogs who must live their lives hungry and emaciated.

AUFENTHALTSORT

About Grace

What life with Grace looks like

Grace is an extra-large young adult german shepherd dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Grace, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Grace?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Grace on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Grace if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Grace already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Grace isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Grace and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
