Adopt Greya

Bernese Mountain Dog · Female · Adult · 6 years

30-05-36 Greya has come to us from a breeder and is now searching for a loving forever home. She is a shy and worried girl who is currently finding her new surroundings a little overwhelming. Underneath her uncertainty is a very sweet girl and if you spend some time with her she starts to come out of her shell and seems to really enjoy a gentle fuss. Greya will be looking for a calm and quiet home where she can settle at her own pace. She will need patient adopters who understand that everything is completely new to her and that building confidence and trust may take time. We would consider homing her with gentle, dog savvy teenagers. She takes great comfort from other dogs and will need a kind and confident resident dog in her new home. Having a canine friend to guide her and show her the ropes will help her feel secure and settle much more quickly into family life. As Greya has never lived in a home before, there will be lots for her to learn. Her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she learns all about home life and new skills like house training. She will also need to learn how to walk on a lead and harness, beginning in the safety of the home and garden before gradually exploring the wider world as her confidence grows. Greya is a gentle, sweet-natured girl and with love, patience, and the support of a canine companion, we are sure she will blossom into a wonderful and devoted family member. She is currently being treated for a ear infection. Greya has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Greya

What life with Greya looks like

Greya is a adult bernese mountain dog dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Greya, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Greya?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Greya on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Greya if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Greya already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Greya isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Greya and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
