Grisa

Female · Senior · 11 years

The wonderful Grisa came from the same owner as Amun, who also belonged to Hope. After the Hope story, which had made waves in Hungary, the local veterinary officer seized Grisa and Amun, who were both severely undernourished. Since 2020, Grisa and Amun have been fattened up at our shelter and are waiting for loving people to show them the sunny side of life. Grisa is a loving and friendly, but also shy female dog. She is reserved with strangers and only approaches after she feels safe. Her known people have already earned her trust and she enjoys getting cuddles, which was a lack in her previous life. Grisa can already walk on a leash. Otherwise, she should still be taught a few things from the dog ABC lovingly. Grisa wants to be adequately stimulated and explore the world with her new people. A garden and a life on the countryside is a must for Grisa. Grisa gets along well with her fellow animals. For our wonderful Grisa, we are looking for breed enthusiasts who can provide her with breed-appropriate mental stimulation, tasks, and stimulation, a 100% family connection, fine food, lots of cuddles, and a worry-free and happy life where she is loved, respected, and cared for. Since Grisa has lived with Ayran for years and is very attached to him, we only want to place the two together. Please only apply for a dog if you can adopt him immediately! Foster homes are not long-term accommodation options – foster homes cannot reserve dogs for several weeks or even months. A quick move into the final home is important for the dogs, as they are settling in and a later change can be more difficult. Additionally, foster home placements are urgently needed, as many dogs in Hungary are waiting to take their place. Many thanks for your understanding and support in the interest of the dogs!

Die wunderschöne Grisa kam zusammen mit Amun von dem gleichen Besitzer, welchem Hope gehörte. Nach der Geschichte mit Hope, die auch in Ungarn hohe Wellen geschlagen hatte, beschlagnahmte der Amtstierarzt Grisa und Amun, welche auch beide stark unterernährt waren. Seit dem 2020 wurden Grisa und Amin im Menhely aufgepäppelt und warten auf liebe Menschen die ihnen die Sonnenseite des Lebens zeigen. Grisa ist eine liebe und freundliche, aber zuerst auch schüchterne Hundedame. Vor allem bei Fremden ist sie zurückhaltend und schaut erst, ob man es gut mit ihr meint. Fühlt sie sich sicher, nimmt sie vorsichtig Kontakt auf. Ihr bekannten Menschen hat sie bereits ihr Vertrauen geschenkt und geniesst es immer mehr, Streicheleinheiten zu bekommen, das war Mangelware in ihrem bisherigen Leben.Grisa kann schon an der Leine laufen. Ansonsten sollte sie noch ein paar Sachen vom Hunde-ABC liebevoll beigebracht bekommen. Grisa möchte rassegerecht ausgelastet werden und mit ihren neuen Menschen die Welt entdecken. Ein Garten und ein Leben auf dem Lande ist ein Muss bei Grisa. Mit ihren Artgenossen versteht sich Grisa gut. Für unsere wundervolle Grisa suchen wir Kenner und Liebhaber dieser Rasse, welche Grisa eine rassegerechte Beschäftigung, Aufgabe und Auslastung bieten können, ihr 100% Familienanschluss ermöglichen, sie verwöhnen mit feinem Futter, vielen Streicheleinheiten und ihr ein sorgloses und glückliches Leben schenken, wo sie geliebt, geachtet und umsorgt wird. Da Grisa bereits seit Jahren mit Ayran zusammenlebt und sehr an ihm hängt, möchten wir die beiden nur gemeinsam vermitteln. Bitte bewerbt euch nur für einen Hund, wenn ihr ihn auch zeitnah adoptieren könnt! Pflegestellen sind keine langfristigen Unterbringungsorte – die Pflegestellen können Hunde nicht über mehrere Wochen oder gar Monate „reservieren“. Für die Hunde ist zudem ein schneller Umzug ins endgültige Zuhause wichtig, da sie sich zunehmend auf der Pflegestelle einleben, was einen späteren Wechsel erschweren kann und nicht notwendig ist, wenn ein Zuhause gefunden ist. Außerdem werden die Pflegestellenplätze dringend benötigt, denn es warten viele Hunde in Ungarn, die dann nachrücken können. Vielen Dank für euer Verständnis und eure Unterstützung im Sinne der Hunde! RegularLabs.EmailProtector.unCloak("ep_9f94c2ac"); RegularLabs.EmailProtector.unCloak("ep_2b8d4761");

About Grisa

What life with Grisa looks like

Grisa is a large senior dog waiting at Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. in Marsberg.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Grisa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Grisa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Grisa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Grisa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Grisa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Grisa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Grisa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
