Gurson
Male · Senior · 15 years
Health status: joint degeneration; takes medication for thyroid issues; most likely deaf. Gurson has come to us twice—first in May 2012 and again in May 2025. His life has taken a sad turn. As a senior dog of larger size, he has very little chance of finding a home. Gurson is deaf; calls or the rustle of snack packaging won’t catch his attention. But when he sees someone reaching into their pocket... he’ll be right there, instantly by your side. Gurson may have once served as a guard dog. On the exercise yard, when he sees other dogs passing by, he starts guarding the fence. He runs practically blind, tripping over every bump, yet barking fiercely to ward off any “intruder.” Considering his age, this isn’t entirely safe for him. When kept close to a person, his reaction shifts to calm, attentive observation. Gurson is a lively old guy, and walks with him are a real pleasure. He carefully watches where his caregiver is standing. However, it’s important to remember that you’ll need to give him plenty of space—and keep your distance from other dogs. Gurson needs his own safe zone, even when it comes to physical contact. We don’t know what happened to him over the years, but it’s clear that having a hand extended toward him causes him great discomfort. Gurson tenses up, stiffens, and waits... Even toward people he knows, he approaches with caution. Yet after spending some time together, he’ll let you pet and scratch him under his collar. Gurson needs understanding, personal space, and peace. He’d make a wonderful companion for someone living on the ground floor who doesn’t expect their dog to show an overwhelming amount of affection. Let’s not allow him to spend the rest of his life in a shelter.

Gurson trafił do nas dwukrotnie. najpierw w maju 2012, a następnie w maju 2025. Natomiast kiedy widzi sięganie ręką do kieszeni… Gurson potrzebuje zrozumienia, przestrzeni i spokoju.
