Hahn

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 1 year

We have a Hahn for whom we would love to find a good new home. Hahn is now 8 months old and was hatched by our hens in July 2025. Since we only have 6 hens, he and the older Hahn are too much for such a small flock, so we are looking for a new home for him. His mother is a Grünleger hen, and his father is of the Black Saxon chicken breed. The young Hahn is very tame and accustomed to people. He is quite active and already shows concern for the hens. He is well socialized.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hahn, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hahn?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Zuflucht für Tiere im Allgäu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hahn on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hahn if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a animal can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Zuflucht für Tiere im Allgäu what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Hahn already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a animal comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Zuflucht für Tiere im Allgäu directly what is included and what Hahn still needs.
What happens if Hahn isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Zuflucht für Tiere im Allgäu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hahn and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
