🐾 Hank 🐾 Cuddle Cat: Yes Breed: House Cat Gender: Male Children: >12 years Access to outside: No (AIDS Cat) Other Cats: YES (if AIDS+) Other Animals: Unknown Neutered: YES Meet Hank! Hank came to us after living for years in a large stray cat colony. All these kittens deserve a better home and have shown a lot of potential to become social. Hank needed a bit more time to become social but has recently realized that we are quite nice. He is very curious and actively asks for cuddles. Playing with the feather toy is also very fun and we are happy to see that he has developed into a cuddle cat. Hank tested positive for AIDS, which means we are looking for a home for him with or without a cat friend (provided this cat is also AIDS positive). Are you still looking for a sweet indoor cat? Then Hank might be the ideal companion! Feline AIDS: Kittens with Feline AIDS can live a long time with the disease without experiencing serious problems. Unfortunately, there is no cure but that does not mean these lovely animals do not deserve a beautiful home. Note: an AIDS positive kitten can bring additional costs as they get older. These are mainly supportive care for the symptoms they may develop later. Type of Animal: Cat Gender: Male Age:

🐾 Hank 🐾 Knuffelkat: Ja Ras: huiskat Geslacht: kater Kinderen: >12 jaar Toegang tot buiten: Neen (Aidskatje) Andere katten: JA (mits aids+) Andere dieren: Niet geweten Zindelijk: JA Meet Hank! Soort dier: Kat Geslacht: Mannelijk Leeftijd: 1/1/2023

About Hank

What life with Hank looks like

Hank is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst in Belgium.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hank, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hank?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hank on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hank if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hank already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hank isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pootjesparadijs Dierenopvangcentrum Zemst early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hank and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
