Hannah

Pointer · Female · Senior · 11 years

Sweet Hannah is an affectionate older girl who is ready to spend her golden years enjoying the comforts of a loving home. Hannah loves the simple things in life – pottering around the garden, enjoying a gentle woodland walk and curling up somewhere cosy for an afternoon snooze. She's also quite the little character, especially when it comes to reminding you that she's due some fuss and attention! Sadly, Hannah is looking for a new home following the loss of her owners. She's now hoping to find someone who can offer her the love, companionship and security she deserves. A quieter, adult home or one with older children A good-sized garden with secure, solid 6ft fencing No cats, but she could live with another dog following successful introductions Someone who is home for much of the day A family happy to enjoy gentle, on-lead walks and plenty of time relaxing together Hannah is a lovely companion who travels well in the car, settles happily downstairs overnight and enjoys being groomed and handled – particularly when it means a little extra attention! As an older girl, she does have a few fatty lumps on her chest, which our team will be happy to discuss with potential adopters. If you're looking for a loving companion to share life's quieter moments, Hannah could be the perfect addition to your home. 💚 Could you give Hannah the retirement home she deserves? About Hannah

What life with Hannah looks like

Hannah is a senior pointer dog waiting at PACT Animal Sanctuary in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hannah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hannah?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PACT Animal Sanctuary handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hannah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hannah if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PACT Animal Sanctuary will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Hannah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hannah isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PACT Animal Sanctuary early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hannah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
