Hans & Hugo

European Shorthair · Male · Kitten · 3 months

Hans and Hugo are two inseparable brothers who are looking for a new home together. They play together, sleep together and seek a lot of support from each other. Both gentlemen are cheerful, curious kittens who discover the world with enthusiasm. A ball, feather or piece of paper immediately leads to a new play session. Playing is number one for Hans and Hugo. They are active, enterprising and always looking for a new adventure. Although they are used to human contact and feel comfortable around people, they currently prefer a game over an extensive cuddle session. Hans and Hugo grow up in a foster home together with their mother and nestmates. Here they gain new experiences every day and develop into social and confident cats. They are clean, eat well and grow up well. Because the bond between these brothers is so special, they are only placed together. For Hans and Hugo we are looking for a loving home where they can grow up together and enjoy everything that cat life has to offer. They can be kept as an indoor cat or eventually go outside, provided this is in a safe environment and after a quiet acclimatization period is built up. With Hans and Hugo you not only bring two energetic and cheerful kittens into your home, but also a beautiful friendship to enjoy every day.

Ga terug

About Hans & Hugo

What life with Hans & Hugo looks like

Hans & Hugo is a puppy/kitten european shorthair cat waiting at Dierentehuis Arnhem in Netherlands.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hans & Hugo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hans & Hugo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierentehuis Arnhem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hans & Hugo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hans & Hugo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierentehuis Arnhem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hans & Hugo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hans & Hugo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierentehuis Arnhem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hans & Hugo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
