Heinrich

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Henry, originally named Dzsoni, was rescued from Ukraine by a German organization and brought to safety in Hungary on December 4th, 2024. Unfortunately, we do not know much about his past life. Since then, Henry has been living at the animal shelter in Kecskemét, waiting for a positive change in his life. We cannot change his past, but we are very concerned about his future and hope that he will finally find happiness. Henry is a great and loving dog, friendly and nice, who loves humans and enjoys spending time with them, receiving attention and affection, which is always scarce at the shelter. He also enjoys petting from caregivers. Henry has not had much experience in his life so far, but he is ready to make up for it. First of all, he needs to learn some basic commands, but he is willing to learn and will probably understand quickly how things work. Walking on a leash is already fine. Henry wants to be exercised like other dogs and go on exciting exploration tours with his new family. He gets along well with his fellow dogs, but lives alone in his kennel. (As of July 6th, 2026) We are looking for loving dog friends and a great home for our charming Henry, who has been waiting too long. Henry deserves the chance to move into a family as a cherished friend and experience everything he would love to know: enjoyable walks, love, security, care, daily petting, and 100% family connection. A home where he is cared for and can enjoy his life without worries. Who will show Henry how beautiful life can be?

DE·Show original

About Heinrich

What life with Heinrich looks like

Heinrich is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Heinrich, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Heinrich?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Heinrich on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Heinrich if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Heinrich already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Heinrich isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Heinrich and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
