Adopt Herold

Mixed Breed · Male

A dog who came into our care from the animal shelter "Kocham Psisko". Although the age indicates he is in his prime, Herold is a calm and gentle soul. He is a "low-maintenance" dog - a model patient at the veterinarian, he keeps himself clean beautifully and travels very politely by car. Despite his young age, Herold has some health limitations which he endures with great patience. He suffers from retinal degeneration - his right eye hardly sees, but his left allows him to still enjoy the world. He also has a diagnosed B1 stage endocardiosis, which currently does not require medication, only an annual check-up with a cardiologist. Herold is a low activity dog who values quiet, "sniffing" walks and exploring every bush. In relationships with other dogs, Herold is exemplary - he gets along well with his fellow dogs, although at home he can be protective of his bowl (possessiveness over food). He loves people unconditionally and adores being scratched behind the ear. He is the perfect dog for someone looking for a loyal, balanced companion who doesn't require athletic feats. He will thrive both in an apartment in the city and in a house with a garden. — METRICS — 🧮 Age: 01/2020 🚻 Sex: male 🐾 Size: 21.4 kg 🏀 Activity: low ❤️ neutered: yes ℹ️ Chip: yes 💉 Vaccinations: yes 📍 Location:

About Herold

What life with Herold looks like

Herold is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Herold, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Herold?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Herold on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Herold if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Herold already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Herold isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Judyta dla Psiego Losu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Herold and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
