Herr Sander

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Herr Sander is already waiting in his foster home in Germany. Herr Sander had quite the bumpy start in life. Found together with his siblings near a village near Bistrita in Romania, they definitely would not have made it through the winter alone. The little guy is now 7 months old and currently about 30 cm tall. With his sandy fur and dark snout, Herr Sander simply looks magical. Herr Sander is very reserved with strangers at the beginning and does not like to be touched. Once he warms up, he is friendly, playful, and a little clown. He gets along well with other dogs. Like every puppy, Herr Sander still needs to diligently learn the dog ABCs. Working with a positively trained handler is always recommended for young puppies, as they not only train but also strengthen the bond between dog and human. We are confident that Herr Sander will grow into a great dogman. A young dog also means responsibility and big changes. Those who deal with it beforehand will not regret the decision. For while a puppy may test your nerves and require patience, the loyalty and love you receive in return are invaluable. Those who dedicate themselves with love, patience, and clear structures of upbringing will be richly rewarded. Herr Sander is vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed and will be adopted after a positive. If you are smitten with the awesome guy, then feel free to contact us! Many thanks to BO22 Bonn. Thank you for giving Herr Sander a name and thus the chance to have his own dog bed. Date: 28.04.

Vielen Dank an BO22 Bonn. Stand: 28.04.2026

About Herr Sander

What life with Herr Sander looks like

Herr Sander is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Herr Sander, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Herr Sander?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Herr Sander on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Herr Sander if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Herr Sander already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Herr Sander isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Herr Sander and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
