Adopt Hiena

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 14 years

Female Date of Birth: July-August 2012 Size: Medium Spayed Hiena was born on a field among many sisters. On that field, houses began to be built that had large and beautiful courtyards. The little curious one would have liked to have her family, but unfortunately, those people did not want them there, so when she was only 6 months old and was a walking skeleton, and when her mother gave birth to some new chicks, the people in the area began to apply various tactics to make them disappear. Her good fortune was that someone who could not be idle passed through the area and came daily with food, trying to make a home for them to adapt because it was winter and cold. The home was always destroyed by the needy neighbors, so this family had to be moved to a safe place. The cat is hopeful but can be put on her, for she knows not all people are angels; some have fed and saved her. Hiena is strong, so the illness that killed 2 sisters did not affect her even though they were in the same place. Some would say she had luck, and we tend to agree. We hope her luck will culminate in a family that loves her and gives her time until she wins her trust. Click here for more photos Contact:

About Hiena

What life with Hiena looks like

Hiena is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Asociatia ROBI / 4animals.ro in Romania.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hiena, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hiena?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Asociatia ROBI / 4animals.ro handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hiena on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hiena if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Asociatia ROBI / 4animals.ro will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hiena already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hiena isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Asociatia ROBI / 4animals.ro early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hiena and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (RO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
