Holly

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Hello, I am the cute ewe Holly and was born in the Westerwald in 2018. In the very hot summer of 2020, the feed became scarce, and as a result, two sheep had to leave. Our owners advertised my companion Shy and me in classified ads for sale. We were both lucky enough that at that time, there was space in the Hunsrück sheep herd at Schutzengel für Tiere. Petra was looking in classified ads for possibly slaughter-threatened sheep between Sauerland and Simmern and came across our advertisement. We sheep are very frugal, friendly herd animals. We can also be transported together in a trailer with several other sheep, even though we don't know each other yet. The Schutzengel trailer had a partition for separation, but it was already occupied by the dwarf goat mom Carla with her babies Candy and Carlotta, who were saved from slaughter in Lower Saxony. On the way, Shy and I were the first to join. And in Dillenburg, Petra also picked up Heidschnucke mom Masha with her already large children Monja and Mucia. We got along well during the trip and could hardly believe our luck when we stepped out on the large two-hectare meadow in Simmern. Our owner was also happy that we were allowed to continue living and donated the purchase price of a total of 200 € to Schutzengel für Tiere. This was a long time ago, Shy and I still enjoy our life here in Simmern. The monthly boarding costs for a sheep now amount to 26.50 € in the summer and even 28 € in the winter. A sponsorship is already possible from 15 € per month. Would you like to be my sponsor? Fill out the sponsorship declaration now.

About Holly

What life with Holly looks like

Holly is a medium-sized adult mixed breed animal waiting at Schutzengel für Tiere e.V. in Drolshagen.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Holly far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Holly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Holly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schutzengel für Tiere e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Holly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Holly if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a animal can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Schutzengel für Tiere e.V. what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Holly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a animal comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Schutzengel für Tiere e.V. directly what is included and what Holly still needs.
What happens if Holly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schutzengel für Tiere e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Holly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
