How do I contact the shelter about Honden ter adoptie?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Dogs Nederland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Honden ter adoptie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Honden ter adoptie if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Dogs Nederland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Honden ter adoptie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Honden ter adoptie isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Dogs Nederland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Honden ter adoptie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Honden ter adoptie

Female · Puppy · 8 months

Debbie is a young female puppy with an estimated birth date of January 2026. She currently stands about 38 cm tall. She may grow a bit more, but she won't get much bigger. This makes her a fine, manageable size. Debbie was born in Romania with her brother Dobby. Unfortunately, their life took a sad turn early on. Their owner became terminally ill and could no longer care for the dogs. Luckily, their mother was taken in by family, but there was no place for Debbie and Dobby. They ended up in the SOS Dogs Romania shelter, where they now wait for their forever family. Debbie is a lovely girl who enjoys life to the fullest. She is cheerful, active, and always curious about what's going on around her. She is also smart and learns new things quickly. She loves being around people and enjoys following them everywhere. She adores attention, cuddles, and being together. 🥰 Debbie also gets along well with other dogs. She enjoys playing and feels comfortable around her own kind. Her social nature means she could live as a single dog or with another friendly dog. We are looking for a loving home for Debbie where she can continue to grow and discover all the joys of being a family pet. A family that gives her time to adjust and guides her with patience and love. In return, you'll get a cheerful, loyal friend who brings a smile every day. ❤️🐾 Debbie is still in Romania but can come to the Netherlands if a family is found for her. If you are interested in Debbie, please send us a message with your living and working situation and any experience with dogs. If an intake conversation shows you are a match, an appointment can be made to pick her up at our small-scale shelter in Didam

About Honden ter adoptie

What life with Honden ter adoptie looks like

Honden ter adoptie is a large puppy/kitten dog waiting at SOS Dogs Nederland in NN Didam.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands
