Can I adopt Honden ter adoptie if I live in another country?

What happens if Honden ter adoptie isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Dogs Nederland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Honden ter adoptie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Honden ter adoptie

Female · Young · 1 year

Meet the beautiful Eliza! 💖 Eliza is a sweet female puppy with an estimated birth date of March 2025 and a shoulder height of approximately 42 cm. A lovely handy size: not too big and not too small, but just right to be everywhere cozy! 🐾 Eliza was found on the street in the Romanian village of Santandrei. When she was found, she was very thin and anxious. Probably she had to survive on her own for a long time. Fortunately, she got a place in the SOS Dogs Romania shelter, where she finally got the care, rest and love she needed so badly. She has now gained weight, feels a lot safer and is ready for the next step in her life: a new family! ❤️ And what a sweet dog Eliza is! She is friendly, social and loves attention. Would you skip a hug? Eliza thinks very differently! 🥰 She thoroughly enjoys human contact and loves to spend time together. She also gets along well with other dogs and shows herself as a sociable and friendly girl. In addition, Eliza already walks nicely on a leash. This makes it a lot easier for her future family to go on an adventure together. Whether it's a walk through the woods, a walk around the neighborhood or a relaxed afternoon in the garden, Eliza likes to join in. 🌳🐕 After her difficult start, Eliza deserves a home where she never has to know hunger, uncertainty or loneliness again. A place where she is loved, where she can grow further and where she can finally discover how beautiful a dog's life can be.

Daar denkt Eliza heel anders over!

About Honden ter adoptie

What life with Honden ter adoptie looks like

Honden ter adoptie is a large young adult dog waiting at SOS Dogs Nederland in NN Didam.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.
