How do I contact the shelter about Honden ter adoptie?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Dogs Nederland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. Can I adopt Honden ter adoptie if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Dogs Nederland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Honden ter adoptie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Honden ter adoptie isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Dogs Nederland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Honden ter adoptie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Honden ter adoptie

Female · Young · 2 years

Piper is a beautiful female dog with an estimated birth date of July 2024. She is approximately 40 cm tall, making her a lovely medium-sized companion. Piper was found on the streets of the Romanian village of Sanmartin. She was roaming with her six puppies. No one knew her, she had no chip and seemed to have been completely abandoned. When the staff of SOS Dogs Romania encountered her, she greeted them directly with joy and enthusiasm. Her friendly character made it impossible to leave her behind, and fortunately, Piper and her puppies were allowed to come to the safety of the shelter. Piper has been a fantastic mother to her six little ones. She has taken care of them with great care and dedication until they were old enough to go their own way. Now that her task is over and her puppies no longer need her, it is time for Piper to get what she so desperately wants: a loving home of her own. ❤️ Piper is truly a treasure of a dog. She is cheerful, sweet and has a gentle and friendly character. She enjoys human company immensely and loves attention and cuddles. A pat on her head or a cozy moment together makes her day complete. 🥰 Piper also gets along well with other dogs. She is social and relaxed in contact with her peers. In addition, she walks nicely on a leash, which makes her a nice walking companion. For Piper, we are looking for a family that gives her all the love she has always given so generously. A place where she no longer has to take care of others, but where she is finally taken care of. Where she can be part of the family, go for nice walks, cuddle and enjoy life.

About Honden ter adoptie

What life with Honden ter adoptie looks like

Honden ter adoptie is a large young adult dog waiting at SOS Dogs Nederland in NN Didam.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands
