Adopt Hudson

Belgian Malinois · Male · Young · 3 years

Hudson ID No.: 1026472 Breed: Malinois-mixed breed Age: approx. 08/2021 Gender: male Shoulder height: approx. 60 cm Neutered: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Hudson – our No-Ear-Malli Hudson (*approx. 08/2021, approx. 60 cm) came to our Spanish partner animal shelter Triple A Marbella as an unchipped stray dog in May 2023. After some time, he was introduced to a group of dogs, which went well for a while. But one day, a fight broke out among the dogs, severely injuring Hudson's ears to the point that they had to be cropped. However, the incident left scars not only physically: Hudson became traumatized and developed a fear of being attacked by other dogs. For safety reasons, he initially lived alone, but for some time now he has been sharing his kennel with another Malinois male dog. This arrangement works very well, and Hudson has been able to ease his fears somewhat. Nevertheless, he remains highly stressed in the kennel and paces restlessly back and forth. He is always overjoyed when a volunteer takes him outside. On walks, he can relax very quickly and doesn’t pull on the leash as long as someone interacts with him. Once he gets to know someone better and feels safe, he loves being petted, enjoys learning with treat rewards, and happily stays close to his human. When walked together with other dogs (including male dogs) today, things go quite smoothly—but understandably, he prefers dogs that aren’t too “dominant.” In May 2025, we had the chance to meet him in person, and he completely enchanted us. He is so people-oriented and lights up even at just a friendly word. He can be incredibly cheerful and does joyful little hops. Hudson is truly eager to interact with people—and he finds humans genuinely fascinating; treats aren’t even needed to capture his attention. While many dogs struggle in an animal shelter, Hudson suffers especially deeply and urgently needs his own family. Hudson is looking for a patient person experienced in handling slightly insecure dogs. His new home should be in a quiet area where he can gradually adjust to the everyday life of a family dog and rebuild his self-confidence at his own pace. Step by step, Hudson will reclaim his life and regain some weight. We can easily imagine Hudson finding great joy in shared human-dog activities. Working together—for example, in Mantrailing, Obedience, or similar—strengthens a dog’s self-confidence and deepens the bond between dog and human. Hudson is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and holds an EU pet passport. For travel arrangements, he has been tested for Mediterranean diseases, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Vaccinations: Yes Mediterranean check: Yes Microchip: Yes Known illnesses: None Aggression toward property: No Transport included Contact person: Larissa Spörl Tel: Email:

About Hudson

What life with Hudson looks like

Hudson is a young adult belgian malinois dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hudson, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hudson?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hudson on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hudson if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hudson already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hudson isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hudson and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
