Isi is approximately 11 years old and was finally able to travel to a foster home after many years in the shelter. Ten years of her life were spent in the animal shelter – a long time that, of course, left its mark on her. Her little snout has turned gray, and she belongs to the dogs who never really had the chance to learn what a normal life feels like. Even on her foster home, Isi continues to show extreme fear in dealing with people. Many situations are still unfamiliar to her, and she needs a lot of time to feel safe. But despite all these uncertainties, there are first, cautious progress: Isi has chosen her foster family's daughter as her primary caregiver. She finds security in her presence – she sleeps in her room and now also seeks contact by gently nudging her. These small moments show that a gentle, cautious soul lies within Isi, one that wants to begin to trust. With other dogs, Isi is still very compatible. She strongly orientates herself towards her fellow animals, which is why a confident single dog in the new home would be a great help for her. For Isi, we are looking for a very quiet, experienced home – ideally in rural surroundings, with a securely fenced garden. Children or a chaotic daily routine would overwhelm her. She needs people with patience, empathy, and experience in dealing with very fearful dogs. People who have nothing to expect from her and simply give her the time to settle in at her own pace. Isi will probably not be a dog who carefree lives or openly approaches strangers anymore. But she can learn to feel safe, to settle down, and to form a bond in her own way. After so many years in the shelter, we sincerely wish for Isi that she does not spend her last years behind bars, but in a protected environment where she can simply be herself. Isi ist etwa 11 Jahre alt und durfte nach vielen Jahren im Shelter endlich auf eine Pflegestelle reisen. Zehn Jahre ihres Lebens hat sie im Tierheim verbracht – eine lange Zeit, die natürlich nicht spurlos an ihr vorbeigegangen ist. Ihr kleines Schnäuzchen ist inzwischen grau geworden, und sie gehört zu den Hunden, die nie wirklich lernen durften, wie sich ein normales Leben anfühlt. Auch auf ihrer Pflegestelle zeigt sich Isi weiterhin sehr ängstlich im Umgang mit Menschen. Viele Situationen sind ihr fremd, und sie braucht viel Zeit, um sich sicher zu fühlen. Doch trotz all dieser Unsicherheiten gibt es erste, vorsichtige Fortschritte: Isi hat sich die Tochter ihrer Pflegefamilie als Bezugsperson ausgesucht. In ihrer Nähe findet sie Sicherheit – sie schläft mit in ihrem Zimmer und sucht inzwischen auch immer wieder vorsichtig Kontakt, indem sie sie sanft anstubst. Diese kleinen Momente zeigen, dass in Isi eine sanfte, vorsichtige Seele steckt, die beginnen möchte, Vertrauen zu fassen. Mit anderen Hunden ist Isi nach wie vor sehr gut verträglich. Sie orientiert sich stark an ihren Artgenossen, weshalb ein souveräner Ersthund im neuen Zuhause eine große Hilfe für sie wäre. Für Isi suchen wir ein sehr ruhiges, erfahrenes Zuhause – idealerweise in ländlicher Umgebung, mit einem sicher eingezäunten Garten. Kinder oder ein trubeliger Alltag würden sie überfordern. Sie braucht Menschen mit Geduld, Einfühlungsvermögen und Erfahrung im Umgang mit sehr ängstlichen Hunden. Menschen, die nichts von ihr erwarten und ihr einfach die Zeit geben, in ihrem eigenen Tempo anzukommen. Isi wird wahrscheinlich kein Hund mehr werden, der unbeschwert durchs Leben geht oder offen auf fremde Menschen zugeht. Aber sie kann lernen, sich sicher zu fühlen, zur Ruhe zu kommen und auf ihre ganz eigene Weise eine Bindung aufzubauen. Nach so vielen Jahren im Shelter wünschen wir uns für Isi von Herzen, dass sie ihre letzten Lebensjahre nicht hinter Gittern verbringen muss, sondern in einem geschützten Umfeld, in dem sie einfach sein darf. Unsere Isi ist kastriert, gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht. Sie besitzt ihren EU-Heimtierausweis und kann nach positiver Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr in ihr Zuhause ziehen.
