Adopt Ivy

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Ivy was found alone and abandoned by our animal protectors on a field. When she arrived at the animal shelter, she was very shy and insecure. The many new impressions, unfamiliar people, and unfamiliar noises initially scared her. But slowly, she is opening up more and more, allowing herself to be petted and enjoying the affection of the people. She is a particularly gentle and loving female dog. She also gets along very kindly and considerately with her penmate Irma. Ivy does not push herself to the forefront, but meets other dogs in a calm and social manner. Ivy is still a puppy and thus at the very beginning of her life. Puppies bring a lot of joy but also responsibility, time, and patience. In the coming months, Ivy will still have to learn a lot. The first teeth will fall out, teething can be tiring, and later puberty will come – a phase in which even the most beloved dog tests its limits. Therefore, we cannot say for certain how Ivy will develop character-wise. What we can say for sure today, however, is that Ivy is a charming, gentle, and sensitive female dog who more than deserves a loving home. Who will give Ivy a home or a foster place and show her how wonderful a dog's life can be?

About Ivy

What life with Ivy looks like

Ivy is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Arme Hundeseelen in Năsăud.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ivy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ivy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arme Hundeseelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ivy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ivy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arme Hundeseelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ivy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ivy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arme Hundeseelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ivy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
