Adopt Jack

Belgian Malinois · Male · Puppy

23.03.2026 Little Jack has settled well in Switzerland. He is a charming young puppy, just before puberty, with all the mischief that comes with a young Mali. We wish to place little Jack in a dog-experienced home where he can be nurtured to become a wonderful companion. We will report back in a few days. 14.03.2026 Jack was seized by the police on 23.12.25. After much legal wrangling, Jack is finally available for adoption, so we are now seeking a loving, new, and dog-experienced home. The young male dog is typical of a young puppy: active, playful, and full of energy. He especially loves playing ball and enjoys any form of mental stimulation. Jack is friendly with people and also gets along well with other dogs. He has shown little interest in cats so far. For Jack, we wish to place him in a sporty and active home. As a Malinois type, he needs both physical and mental stimulation—therefore, he should be worked with and trained. Since Jack came to the animal shelter at five months old, he still has a lot to learn. With patience, consistency, and loving guidance, he will surely develop into a great companion. Jack is allowed to travel to Switzerland on 21.03.2026, where he can be met at an Aargauer animal shelter. This is a young, adolescent dog.

About Jack

What life with Jack looks like

Jack is a puppy/kitten belgian malinois dog waiting at Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten in Arme Pfoten.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jack, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jack?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jack on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jack if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jack already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jack isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jack and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
