Adopt Jack

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Jack, the little one with the pink nose has now decided to trust humans. The little Jack was found together with his siblings Felix, Flower, Andy and Fudge in an abandoned olive grove without his mother. The five puppies were not doing well at first. They arrived at the animal shelter undernourished, apathetic and timid. There was great concern that they would not make it. But thanks to the great care and all-inclusive feeding, they have quickly regained their strength and can now enjoy their childhood without worries. Jack owes his cool name to Edith R., who dreams of having her own dog again one day and that dog should be called Jack. Heartfelt thanks for that. Our Jack is now ready to explore the big wide world. The siblings are naturally very attached to each other. Together they explore their surroundings. Jack is always a bit more reserved and skeptical than his brothers. Also, he is the smallest of the dog gang. Jack is looking for a understanding family that can give him security and time to adjust. He is certainly not a dog who will joyfully run towards his new people on the first day, rather he will react uncertainly and anxiously. But he will keep taking small steps and gradually the trust will grow. Jack wishes for a confident only dog by his side, whom he can orient himself to. This helps enormously with the adjustment. Jack would like to move into a dog-experienced family, which does not overwhelm him at first. Actually, Jack is a very cheerful and happy dog who still likes to hide in his snail house. But here at the animal shelter he is making great progress and is now gathering all his courage, because he has a big dream: one day to wake up in the arms of his heart's people. Who wants to give Jack a dream home?

About Jack

What life with Jack looks like

Jack is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jack, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jack?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jack on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jack if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jack already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jack isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jack and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
