Jacob &#8211

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 10 months

Our new arrival, Jacob, is only 10 months old (as of 07/2024) and already knows exactly what he wants to be when he grows up – the best lap dog in the world. To train the perfect level of coziness, warmth regulation, wet kisses, and subtle snoring, our friends in Sevilla sometimes have to step up. Jacob, however, doesn't care much that the busy animal welfare workers at Arca have other tasks to attend to. To give Jacob new training opportunities and free the volunteers in Sevilla from the time-consuming cuddle attacks of the mega-charmer, a proper home for the cute mixed breed is desperately needed. Jacob was found a few months ago by really animal-loving, but very poor people in a small village near Sevilla. Leaving a puppy alone on the street in winter was not an option for people who barely have enough to survive. So they took Jacob home and asked Arca for help. Since Jacob was still so small, had no vaccinations, and needed a roof over his head, the animal welfare workers supported the family so that Jacob could stay with them in foster care until he moved into the animal shelter. Jacob is a thoroughly cheerful, people-loving, and inquisitive companion who has made many two- and four-legged friends since living in the facility of our partners. Play and mischief of course also fill Jacob’s busy schedule, but his calling is the cuddling, which he perfects with dedication. What else do we need to say? Jacob is a looker, handily manageable, easy-going, affectionate, funny, inquisitive, … and, to top it off, a non-smoker! He is therefore the ideal roommate for anyone who has enough time for a happy puppy. Jacob wants to conquer the world by the side of a humorous, active family with a comfortable couch. It should be a no-brainer to find a loving home for this heartbreaker – can you help us?. This is a young, adolescent dog.

DE·Show original

About Jacob &#8211

What life with Jacob &#8211 looks like

Jacob &#8211 is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jacob &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jacob &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jacob &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jacob &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jacob &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jacob &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jacob &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
