Adopt Jade

Mixed Breed · Unknown

There are a huge number of homeless dogs in Romania. Each day, they fight to survive, and for many, life in the streets searching for food ends quickly. Local animal lovers try their best to help the dogs. One of those who helped dogs lived in the village of Mitreni. Over the years, a stray dog had collected dogs rescued from the streets, and finally, more than 100 dogs were living in a simple shelter kennel in her yard. In October 2020, the dog's life ended suddenly when her ex-husband stabbed her. A concerned friend contacted the only person they trusted with the dogs, Carmen, the caretaker of Carpe's farm, so that the dogs could be saved from being put down. Together with several other local animal protectors, Carmen spent several days trapping the frightened and shocked dogs. About half of the dogs were placed in private farms, and the rest ended up at Carpe. Jade is one of the dogs that moved to Carpe. He is very shy and always hides in his crate whenever something happens at the shelter kennel. Since he hardly shows himself at the shelter kennel, a experienced home or foster home is being looked for where Jade can relax and gain confidence. He has gotten along well with the other dogs at the shelter kennel.

Kodittomia koiria on Romaniassa valtavasti. He kamppailevat jokainen päivä selviytymisestään ja monen kohdalla turvaton elämä liikenteen seassa ruokaa etsien loppuu lyhyeen. Paikalliset eläinrakkaat ihmiset pyrkivät parhaansa mukaan auttamaan koiria. Yksi koiria auttavista henkilöistä asui Mitrenin kylässä. Erakoituneelle rouvalle oli vuosien saatossa kertynyt kaduilta pelastettuja koiria ja lopulta hänen pihalle kyhätyllä alkeellisella tarhalla asui yli sata koiraa. Lokakuussa 2020 rouvan elämä päättyi yllättäen, kun hänen ex-miehensä puukotti häntä. Koirista huolestunut läheinen otti yhteyttä ainoaan henkilöön johon luotti koirien suhteen, Carpen tarhan ylläpitäjään Carmeniin, jotta koirat pelastuisivat lopetukselta. Yhdessä muutaman muun paikallisen eläinsuojelijan kanssa Carmen vietti tarhalla useita päiviä pyydystäen pelokkaita ja järkyttyneitä koiria. Koirista noin puolet sijoitettiin muille yksityisille tarhoille ja loput päätyivät Carpeen. Jade on yksi Carpelle muuttaneista koirista.

About Jade

What life with Jade looks like

Jade is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Embla Rescue in Helsinki.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇮Adopting from Finland

Finnish shelters require a home visit and an adoption contract. Animals are vetted; the EU pet passport covers cross-border travel within the bloc.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jade, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jade?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Embla Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jade on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jade if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Embla Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jade already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jade isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Embla Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jade and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FI). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
