11.4.2026 Saffie has enjoyed an early spring. She happily spends time in a large fenced yard of the foster home and, as a contrast, enjoys long naps on the couch or in her own crate. She is curious and likes to follow people around, whether it's for a snack in the kitchen or watching the firewood being carried into the shed. Saffie is still shy and training with touching and equipment is done gradually. She does occasionally go for walks in the nearby forest, but there is still a lot for Saffie to explore. Although putting on equipment and the leash is scary for her, she behaves quite comfortably while on the leash and for example starts moving nicely with a gentle touch. On her own yard she also comes nicely when called. In a group, Saffie has done very well and gets some support from the foster home dogs. It seems that she has slowly started playing games with other dogs as well. 12.3.2026 Saffie is doing well in the foster home. She lives a contented senior lady's life as part of the foster home routine, enjoying outdoor activities and the warmth of home. Saffie visited the vet due to a urinary tract infection and is still going for a dental renovation, so soon she will be in even better shape to continue her journey to a forever home. Saffie enjoys going outside in the backyard and the nearby forest. Touching is stressful for her, but it works out and this is continuously trained more smoothly with Saffie. However, handling, medical treatments and putting on equipment work well, as long as they are done calmly and anticipated. Saffie is therefore looking for a home where a delicate soul like hers is understood and where there is a calm dog company waiting for her.

17.6.2026Saffie on käynyt kesän myötä laajassa hammashoidossa, jossa häneltä poistettiin yhteensä neljä hammasta ja suun kunto selvitettiin perusteellisesti. Mummukalta löytyi useille vanhemmille koirille tyypillisesti parodontiitti, joka tulee vaatimaan säännöllistä seurantaa ja hyvin todennäköisesti uusia hampaiden poistoja. Saffien kanssa selvitellään myös munuaisten toimintaa ja hänellä meneekin tällä hetkellä munuaisia tukeva lisäravinne, joka toivottavasti pitää munuaisarvot kurissa. Eläinlääkärireissujen ohessa Saffie on harjoitellut onnistuneesti varusteiden rennompaa pukemista ja autoilua ja päässyt ihmettelemään Yyterin hiekkarantoja. Koskettaminen ja silittely on hänelle edelleen jännittävää eikä hän hakeudu itse rapsuteltavaksi, vaikka ihmisten lähettyvillä pyöriikin. Saffien tulevalta kodilta toivotaankin ymmärrystä tällaisen herkän koiran sielunelämästä sekä halua ja osaamista sitoutua huolehtimaan mummokoiran terveydestä sen vaatimalla tavalla.11.4.2026Saffie on nauttinut aikaisesta keväästä.
