Adopt Jalapeno

Male · Puppy

SMALL JALAPENO SEARCHES HIS GREAT HAPPINESS The sweet Pumi mixed breed Jalapeno has a delicate wounded soul. The young male dog has certainly not had an easy life in his short existence. For a long time, he wandered alone and probably never got to experience what love and care mean. When you approach his pen, he is overjoyed. When you enter, he initially steps back, but never shows aggression. If you give him a few minutes, he warms up, allows being stroked, often lies down willingly on his back, and enjoys belly rubs. We are sure that he will quickly thaw out in a loving and quiet environment. Jalapeno learns incredibly fast and already walks on a leash! For his great happiness, he is searching for people with patience who can show him how beautiful a dog life can be. As loud noises and currently also men do not suit him, we wish for him a more quiet home in a rural area. The men in the family should be especially understanding and give Jalapeno time to build trust. Jalapeno has not given up on a better life despite his bad past! As always, we remind you that a dog from the international animal shelter needs time, patience, and a loving arrival. New impressions, new routines, and new bonds should grow in peace. Those who are ready to walk this path together will be rewarded with a very deep connection. The sweet Jalapeno is, of course, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, medically examined, has an EU pet passport, and will be handed over! Handover could be on June 27, 2026, in Berlin or alternatively in the Stuttgart area, should someone fall in love with her and give her a – forever home –! About Jalapeno

What life with Jalapeno looks like

Jalapeno is a extra-large puppy/kitten dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jalapeno, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jalapeno?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jalapeno on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jalapeno if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jalapeno already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jalapeno isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jalapeno and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
