JAMESON OK. 3 YEARS 616093902622760 (384/23) SIZE: MEDIUM VACCINATIONS: YES neutering: YES BATHING: – trusts people, although he was definitely not well-treated by them before – keeps a distance from unfamiliar dogs, but can form dog friendships – is curious, loves exploring his surroundings – needs support from a guardian and wise world-showing – handles medical procedures well Hello, I'm Jameson. And, like with that noble drink, my life is sponsored by the number 3. Three lives I had, three I have, and three I intend to have. The first life was before the animal shelter. I don't want to remember those times because nothing good happened to me. I was dirty, neglected, emaciated, terribly hungry, and closed off within myself… I hope that this past will never catch up with me again. The second life is my stay at the animal shelter, which is my present. And hey, it's not bad! I have regular meals, a roof over my head, kind people around me, and I'm finally discovering what it's like to be a dog. I learn this new state with enthusiasm, within the limits of what I can muster. I have quite a bit of that, wanting to erase memories of the distant past. Sometimes, with an excess of emotion, I might nibble with my teeth, but the treats help me work through it. I show cautious interest in my siblings, and while I might growl at unfamiliar dogs sometimes, once I get to know them better, I can be awfully forward. I'm still a bit unkempt, but time and good care allow me to slowly regenerate both inside and out. A good home would undoubtedly help with this entire rehabilitation, and I could happily devote myself to exploring the world in the company of My Person. And here we smoothly transition to my third life, the future. I hope to spend it by your side! That you will show me how great it is to have that human factor beside you. You will propose interesting walks, serve good food, laugh at my silly antics and characteristic grass digging, as soon as I feel it under my paws. Just show me that a dog-human team is a relationship based on trust, respect, and mutual learning to discover each other's best sides. And in return, I promise to roll my belly for scratches and worship you to the point of blinding! But not to the point of making my bed, because I'm not used to making a mess of my bed!

Pierwsze życie to czasy przed schroniskiem. Nie chcę o nich pamiętać, bo nic dobrego mnie w nich nie spotkało. Byłem brudny, zaniedbany, wychudzony, przeokropnie głodny i zamknięty w sobie… Drugie życie to pobyt w Schronisku, czyli teraźniejszość. A mam go w sobie całkiem sporo, jakbym chciał zatrzeć wspomnienia o zamierzchłych dziejach. I tu płynnie przechodzimy do mojego trzeciego życia, czyli przyszłości. A ja w zamian obiecuję wywalać brzuch do drapania i wielbić Cię do wypęku! Pozdrawiam, JAMESON

About JAMESON

What life with JAMESON looks like

JAMESON is a adult dog waiting at Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk in Gdansk.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting JAMESON, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about JAMESON?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw JAMESON on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt JAMESON if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is JAMESON already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if JAMESON isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk early rather than rehoming privately; they know JAMESON and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
