adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Jeff has found a home! His story: Jeff currently lives in Switzerland and is doing well there. He shows himself there as a happy, friendly little guy. In the house and garden, he is very curious and likes to play with his brother Scott. He gets along well with the adult dogs there. Jeff also has no problem with people and approaches strangers openly and curiously. He is a rather laid-back type who likes to observe everything and is not easily ruffled. Of course, Jeff still has a lot to learn. We are looking for people who will help him adapt to his new life in Switzerland with love and patience and are ready to go through life with him as a team. Due to the mixed-breed nature of Jeff, a specific breed cannot be determined. We are looking for people who appreciate a mixed breed and can also provide the appropriate care and guidance. In addition to good physical exercise and mental work, the little guy should also have many rest periods on his daily schedule. A positively reinforcing training style and consistent – loving leadership are assumed. A visit to a good dog training class can only be beneficial. During the first year of life, dogs should be left alone as little as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is still ahead. This affects every dog, regardless of size, gender, or age. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They “forget” much of what they have learned so far, and their ears are on full alert. Therefore, it is especially important to train consistently – but lovingly – during this phase. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Jeff is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas and is ready for his new home. He will be rehomed for an adoption fee of 500 Euros only after a positive check. Jeff brings his EU pet passport with him. Who will give him a loving forever home? Many thanks to Anne L.! You named Jeff. Date: 21.02.

Vielen Dank an Anne L.! Du hast Jeff seinen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 21.02.2025

About Jeff

What life with Jeff looks like

Jeff is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jeff, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jeff?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jeff on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jeff if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jeff already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jeff isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jeff and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
