Jejo

Male · Young · 2 years

Jejo is a friendly medium-sized dog with a beautiful white coat, with spots on the nose and black as coal eyes. At first, he was confused and a bit withdrawn, and an overload of stimuli caused him to fall asleep sitting in his crate. No wonder - a lot has happened in his short life recently. You can read about the circumstances of his capture here: Jejo still seems shy - especially with strangers. On the other hand, he loves familiar people - greets them with smiling eyes and vigorously wagging tail, comes for pats, gladly accompanies in daily activities on the yard, and recently discovered the joy of playing with a ball. However, he remains alert to any false move, that is, one that gets too close to the collar or the rump - then he makes a neat dodge and distances himself from the situation. Evidently, our relationship is not yet very warm. We also suspect that Jejo has never walked on a leash and rather functioned as a "free spirit," which makes the leash around his neck associated with a restriction of freedom. Therefore, he currently lives in a crate with direct access to the yard and under the supervision of a behaviorist who is teaching him that the leash is nothing scary. We are increasingly seeing that Jejo is eager to make new acquaintances with other dogs, and especially attractive female dogs make a strong impression on him - he behaves very politely, is curious and hungry for canine company, but is not too forward, which fellow dogs greatly appreciate. For this reason, as well as in the context of his past experiences, it would certainly be better for him to have another dog/female dog by his side. For now, we are looking for a home for him with access to a garden.

Co to jest za gość! Koniecznie musisz go poznać! About Jejo

What life with Jejo looks like

Jejo is a medium-sized young adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs a home with garden access and would benefit from having another dog companion

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jejo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jejo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jejo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jejo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jejo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jejo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jejo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
