Adopt Jerrie

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Kitten · 7 months

Hello! My name is Jerrie, I am looking for my forever home, hopefully with my brother Tom. My personality: Well, where do I start, I am a very sweet girl who loves to chatter and have LOTS of love. I am only around 7 months old so I still have a lot to learn, I do love to play with feathers. I am still settling into my life here at Rain so the humans are still getting to know me, but they do keep saying whoever adopts me is going to be so lucky! My ideal home: I would love a home with someone who has time to spend with me, and also someone who is used to having long-haired cats, you see my coat is gorgeous but sometimes I may need a helping hand. I would be happy living with another cat (especially my brother Tom). I am not sure if I would like a dog friend, but maybe with slow introductions, it could happen. I would be happy living with children, as long as they give me my time to settle and give me my space when needed. Access to outdoors: I would love access to the outdoors once I have settled in Toileting: I am litter-trained, and I am currently using Did you know: The long fur gene is recessive, so only about 1 in every 10 cats will be a longhaired cat. Our adoption fee is £300

About Jerrie

What life with Jerrie looks like

Jerrie is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jerrie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jerrie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jerrie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jerrie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jerrie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jerrie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jerrie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
