Jerry D2026-55 🐾 🐢 5-year-old Poodle πŸ’™ Neutered πŸ’‰ Vaccinated, microchipped & up to date with flea and wormer 🩷 5 weeks’ FREE Agria pet insurance πŸ“ Fostered in Llantrisant πŸ• Jerry needs another dog in his new home. Jerry is a very sweet, gentle boy who is still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. He is a little scared of his own shadow and can find too much noise, excitement or unfamiliarity overwhelming, so he is looking for a quiet, calm and patient home where he can take things at his own pace. He can be nervous when meeting new people, but once he realises he is safe, his lovely personality starts to shine through. He responds really well to gentle encouragement, positive praise and reassurance. He is particularly helped by having a confident, friendly dog around him , and this is something we feel is essential for Jerry in his new home. His canine companion can help show him that there is nothing to be frightened of and give him the confidence to explore the world. πŸ‘§ Children: Possibly suitable for older, dog-savvy children who understand that Jerry needs calmness, space and time to settle. He would not be suited to a busy or noisy household. 🐢 Dogs: Jerry is happy living with other dogs and must be rehomed with another confident, friendly dog . He currently sleeps downstairs with the other dogs. He has never been left to sleep alone and we don't think he would be comfortable doing so. He would happily sleep alongside another loving dog or with his humans. 🐱 Cats: Not cat tested. 🎾 Toys: Jerry hasn't discovered the joy of toys just yet! He's still concentrating on learning to feel safe and secure, but we're hoping that as his confidence grows, he'll discover that playing and having fun is rather wonderful too. ❀️ 🐾 Walkies: Jerry gets excited when his harness and lead come out, but he has very little experience of actually going for walks. His new family will need to continue his lead-walking train

About Jerry

What life with Jerry looks like

Jerry is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Friends of Animals Wales in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jerry, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jerry?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Friends of Animals Wales handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jerry on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jerry if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Friends of Animals Wales will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jerry already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jerry isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Friends of Animals Wales early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jerry and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
