adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Jessi has found its own home! 21646 Halvesbostel. Jessi can travel to her foster home in mid-January! Her story: Fantanele, Romania. Jessi, Dine, Lysann, Gudrun, Elmonde – five wonderful sisters who had a really tough start in life are now ready for their very own home! The quintet was born on a field. When they were found, they all had parvovirus – a disease that often proves fatal. But the five are true survivors and have made it! They are now in perfect health and ready for their own family! Unfortunately, their mother is too afraid and has not been caught yet. Jessi is an exceptionally beautiful female dog, just over a year old. She currently measures about 50-55 cm in height and weighs around 15 kg. Of the sibling group, she is the one that trusts humans the most. You can put her harness and leash on her and gently pet and lift her. She is not fully relaxed yet, but she is making great progress. Jessi gets along well with other dogs. We wish Jessi a sensitive and patient home that shows the pretty mouse how wonderful life can be. She doesn't know what it's like to live in a home. Jessi still has a lot to learn and will probably need a bit more time. It requires a delicate touch, and setbacks are possible, from which one must not be demotivated. Jessi doesn't know what it's like to be surrounded lovingly by people, to take beautiful excursions into nature, and to lead an appropriate life. But there is a lot of potential in her that needs to be awakened. Jessi wishes for a rural home without much hustle and bustle and with constant trusted people. A positively reinforcing training style is an absolute must, and dog experience is certainly an advantage if you want to adopt Jessi. Our Jessi is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport and would be very grateful for a foster home as well. Are you Jessi's anchor in her young life? Many thanks Grace K.! You named Jessi!. This animal can be anxious in unfamiliar situations.

Vielen Dank Grace K.! Du hast Jessi ihren Namen geschenkt!

About Jessi

What life with Jessi looks like

Jessi is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Jessi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Jessi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Jessi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Jessi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Jessi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Jessi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Jessi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
