adoption requirements adoption process Adopt now this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Joacky travels directly to your final destination! Her story: Our Romanian helper Raluca rescued a sweet, approximately 2.5-year-old Joacky from the street. We don't know where the little mouse came from or how long she had been on her own, but we are happy that she is now in safety. Currently, Joacky lives in an intake station, where she shares an outdoor area with many other dogs without any problems. At first, Joacky is a bit shy: New people and unfamiliar situations unsettle her. But once she has gained trust, she shows her cheerful, curious, and especially playful side. Then it can happen that she jumps joyfully onto her counterpart's lap, seeks closeness, and wiggles her little tail with great joy. The delicate Joacky measures about 40 cm shoulder height and weighs around 10 kg – a handy, compact size to have with you everywhere. Her cream-colored fur, the attentive, pointed ears, and the slightly frizzy snout give her a smart look and make her an absolutely adorable mixed-breed female dog. On the leash, Joacky already walks calmly and wears her harness properly, but like all our strays, she still needs regular training. She also needs to learn and understand the life in the house and the everyday rules of doggy life. Here, she hopes for the patient support of her trusted people. Small learning tasks, beginner-level hide-and-seek games, or even a visit to a good dog training class would be ideal to further strengthen her self-confidence. For Joacky, we wish for a home where she can arrive at her own pace. One should not overwhelm her at the beginning and let her decide when she forms a friendship. Surely, she will then quickly realize how beautiful life is by the side of her favorite people – with walks, cuddle times, and shared adventures. After a positive Wer has a free dog bed for this wonderful little treasure? A foster home would also be a great support for Joacky. Thank you, Petra B., for taking on her namingship. As of 13.10. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

About Joacky

What life with Joacky looks like

Joacky is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Joacky, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Joacky?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Joacky on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Joacky if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Joacky already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Joacky isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Joacky and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
